AKEMI TAKEYA

Location: stable no. 44
In this installation by Akemi Takeya (b. 1961, Aomori) twenty screens are deployed, so the public can view the artist at work. In these fragments, the Japanese artist explores the constraints of the human body, as well as the question: whether the elusive experience of human suffering and death can be recorded in an image. She does this by means of physical, sometimes shocking actions, in which the pulp and the juice of lemons symbolize her own flesh and blood.
Live action / performance: The performance by Akemi Takeya takes place in the Grote Post
